Jim Curry and Frank Totino are alumni of Calgary's Loose Moose Theatre, known internationally for its "Theatre Sports" improvisations. The Contest Show was presented as a live theatre performance at Calgary's now defunct 10 Foot Henry's. The performance was then transformed into a videotape after shooting additional material which was incorporated into an expanded version of the script.
